By incorporating affordable housing, community wealth building, cooperative economics, food justice, and holistic wellness, the project aims to provide a comprehensive solution for the Bed-Stuy community.
OVERVIEW
The project aims to promote food justice and wellness in the community and aims to be the first development in New York City to build a community-owned local broadband network plant, providing more affordable internet access to residents and local businesses.
This project will consist of a two-building affordable housing expected to have 238 units. 158 of these units will be for low-income families, while 80 will be for seniors. The outreach efforts for the plan revealed that residents desire facilities that promote healthy living, community wellness, local physical exercise, and holistic healing services through programming and design.
