Planning Analyst
She currently serves as Planning Analyst at Urbane Development, where she supports the design and implementation of community wealth-building strategies rooted in decarbonization and circular economy goals. Her work focuses on bridging technical planning tools—such as urban spatial analysis, environmental modeling, and supply chain research—with inclusive community engagement and place-based development.
Bhavini’s prior work spans a range of critical issues at the intersection of climate, community, and development. She has developed frameworks to repurpose underutilized industrial land for clean manufacturing and conducted planning research to support open space development through models of value capture and community ownership—most notably in efforts to reimagine the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway through the BQ Green project.
Her contributions to urban resilience also include identifying opportunities for green infrastructure and healthier public space networks through environmental performance modeling. She has analyzed global sustainable transportation strategies, conducted feasibility research on regenerative construction materials, including hemp and cannabis-based biomaterials, and advanced workforce development strategies that align with decarbonization goals in frontline communities.
Bhavini has also contributed to research documenting New York City’s landmark preservation movement and the community organizers behind it, highlighting the power of memory and activism in shaping the built environment.
She holds a Master of Science in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute, where she received the inaugural William ‘Bill’ Menking Travel Scholarship and the 2024 Commitment to the Profession Award. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi, India.
